Bypass Orkut Right Click on Photos

Orkut Tips & Tricks, Technology, Try Outs! August 24th, 2008

Google’s Social Networking Application - Orkut recently added a small update by disabling people from right clicking on photos inside albums so as to stop them from saving or copying the files.

No clue why this was implemented - to protect privacy or to save their bandwidth (!!) or disbale hot-linking of images? Never mind, with few simple steps you could actually save these photos or get the link to share with friends..!

You don’t have to View the Source code and move around finding the url, instead our very own click n drag in most of the browse helps to bypass these settings. Firefox and Internet Explorer both support these features while the right click disable doesn’t seem to work with Opera (luck you Opera fans!). Read the rest of this entry »

Does Google Support Paid Links? Find out!

SEO, WTF? August 21st, 2008

The most discussed or should I rather use the term ‘debated’ topic on Search Engine Optimisation / Search Engine Optimization (SEO) & Link Building would be “Does Google Support Paid Links?” Find out what Google’s opinion about this at their Webmaster Support Center.

  1. Why should I report paid links to Google?
  2. SEO Guidelines from Google

Its evident that Google is against Paid Links / Un-Natural Link Building Strategies, most of their guidelines at help center do provide you solutions to avoid paid links, which could end up penalizing your domain name. Google also has a place where you could report paid links (beware!), you never know.. your competitor could be sypying on your to repot Google!

Now, here is more on to the topic.. i was surprised to see an interesting or should I say a Spammy ad via Google AdSense at Digital Point Forums. While browsing a thread on Automatic URL Submitter, I happened to see the ad below from Google AdSense:

Two Questions:

  1. Where is the Website URL on the Advertisement ?
  2. Where is Ad by Google?

Aren’t these basic policy of Google AdSense to display the url of site and ads by google on every advertisement displayed through Google AdSense to classify that what viewers see is an ad?
